from Ekelund in Sweden.

The Linen of Kings …. The Ekelund family have
been purveyors to the Royal Court of Sweden for
over a century. The very first documented delivery
took place in 1878. The order was probably placed
in connection with Crown Prince Gustav’s visit to
our mill in 1877. Even after ascending the throne,
Gustav V remained an esteemed customer, as did
his son, Gustav VI. We are also pleased to
accommodate our present king, Carl XVI Gustav.

Presidents … Supplying designer table linen to
Russia, which has the world’s largest industrial
production of linen, is unusual. Being favoured with
an exclusive order from the Kremlin is rare still; but
in 1996 Ekelund were proud to deliver tablecloths
and napkins to the stately banquet halls. The
tablecloths were 10 metres long and features the
Russian Coat of Arms woven into the edging.

His Majesty Akihito of Japan, the last remaining
emperor, furnished himself with Ekelund designer
table linen on a visit to Sweden in 2000.

rectangular and round tablecloths. Several of these items
are available in an easy-care/easy-iron finish.

Our Ekelund range of fine table linens from Sweden
arrives with specific washing instructions but may shrink
slightly in a warm wash. Whiteners in your detergent may
change the colours of these naturally-coloured fibres. A
short-spin is recommended. Tumble dry on low, do NOT
tumble dry items containing linen as this will cause
damage to the fibres. Hot iron required. Detailed care
instructions will arrive with your boxed table linen.
